Our final parable of this series shows the generosity of God’s grace. Everyone is invited to the table, however some excuse themselves, refuse the invite and attend to other things, albeit good things! Jesus encourages us to be fully inclusive, offering hope and love to everyone and not be judgemental church bouncers.

Who is my Neighbour? In this parable, Jesus gives a masterclass in prioritising love and kindness above cultural boundaries and selfish gain. He also ties love in action with the importance of knowing what to do to receive eternal life.

26TH JULY 2026 - DANE BAKER - LEGENDS : THE PSALMIST
Continuing our ‘Legends’ series, Dane Baker looks at the role and impact of the Psalmist.
As you listen, think on these questions :
1. What’s your response to the suggestion of taking a psalm and praying for your family based on it? Is that something you could adopt?
2. When mentioning the practice described in Psalm 139v21, Dane encourages us to read the Psalms through a New Testament lens. Can you think of other examples like this?
3. Think about Psalm 139:1. Does this gladden you, scare you or both?
4. Dane looks at Exodus 34:6 and explains the meaning of two Hebrew words - ‘Hesed’ and ‘Emeth’ - which reveal God’s character. Make a note of what they mean and meditate on these.

As you listen, think on these questions :
1. What do we learn about the kind of man Elijah was? Can you walk that same path?
2. Have you ever had to speak truth to power? How did you feel and how did it go?
3. Elijah means "My God is Yahweh". How did Elijah experience the truth of that? Think about times when God has proved to be God for you.
4. Mark quoted Elijah's prayer from 1 Kings 18:36-37. What was Elijah's motive? Is that why you pray?
